Woody Allen Preps Response to Sexual Abuse Claims

A few days ago, Dylan Farrow, wrote a letter to the New York Times, revisiting Allen’s alleged sexual abuse of her as a child.  Following their break up in 1992, Mia Farrow accused Allen of abusing her daughter, Dylan.  After a lengthy investigation, Woody Allen was not charged or prosecuted.  The New York Times Article marks the first time Dylan has written about it publicly.

A representative for Woody Allen commented on the article, saying that Allen had read it “and found it untrue and disgraceful.  He will be responding very soon.”  This is not the only instance in which Allen’s actions regarding his children have been questionable.  His marriage to Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, raised a number of concerns.

While this alleged scandal has re-emerged several times since the incident in the early 90s, this particular instance could prove detrimental to his latest film Blue Jasmine, up for several Oscars at this year’s Academy Awards.  The final round of voting occurs in mid-February and the story will undoubtedly have an impact on the judging.  Woody Allen did not comment on the Time’s original article, but is said to be prepping his own formal response.
