Werner Herzog and son will be partnering up with Gunpowder & Sky on new documentary, Last Exit: Space. Rudolph Herzog is set to direct, while Werner will executive produce and narrate the film.
“The film will raise the question if we should really project our hopes into our galaxy, believing that there might be a place out there that might shelter us humans once the resources of the earth have been exhausted,” Rudolph said. “I’m looking forward to going on a quest with Werner to find the answer.”
The father and son duo have previously worked together on Werner’s Invincible from 2002 and on his 2013 film Happy People: A Year in the Taiga. Last Exit: Space will be their first collaboration with Rudolph in the director’s seat.
