A Hocus Pocus sequel is finally seeing the light of day as it is entering development with Disney+. According to Movieweb.com the Sanderson Sisters who appeared in the first film are rumored to be reprising their roles as Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, all have publicly mentioned their interest in returning for Hocus Pocus 2. Disney has not approached the original stars to commence negotiations leaving fans worried that a sequel would enter another direction and sideline the Sanderson Sisters.

According to the new rumor documented by The DisInsider, the three original stars are now formally in negotiations with Disney to appear in the sequel. The article did not specify if the three stars officially signed on for the film, but it did confirm that negotiations have been taking place via Zoom. If the rumors are accurate, its highly unlikely Disney will provide immediate word after signing Bette Midler, Parker, and Najimy to new deals until the ink dries.

“I think that is something that Bette, Kathy, and I are very hospitable to the idea,” Parker confirmed back in May regarding their potential reprising of the Sanderson Sisters in Hocus Pocus 2. “I think now we have gotten to the point where we all have agreed publicly to the right people that ‘Yes, that would be a very, very fun idea.’ So we’ll see what the future holds.”
