Upcoming Movie “Earthquake Bird” Releases Its First Trailer

The first trailer for the upcoming movie Earthquake Bird has just been released online. Earthquake Bird is a mystery movie based on the novel of the same by Susanna Jones and will be distributed by Netflix, currently set with a release date on the streaming platform for November 15th.

The story of Earthquake Bird follows an American woman named Lucy Fly who lives in 1980’s Japan and works as a translator. There she meets a local photographer named Teiji and another foreign expat named Lily. Lucy finds herself developing complicated feelings for both Lily and Teiji but things only get even more complicated when Lily suddenly, and mysteriously, disappears.

Earthquake Bird was directed by Wash Westmoreland, who previously directed the 2018 biographical drama Colette. The movie stars actress Alicia Vikander, best known for for  Ex Machina and Lara Croft in the recent Tomb Raider movie, as the protagonist Lucy.  Starring alongside Vikander are actress Riley Keough as Lily and Naoki Kobayashi  as Teiji. Actor Jack Huston will also be appearing in the movie as well.

According to Dark Horizons the filmmakers actually shot the movie on location in Japan and in the Japan’s famous Toho Studios. Watch the trailer below:
