Universal and Legendary Pictures have released two new trailers – one for the U.S. and one for international audiences – and a poster for Guillermo del Toro‘s upcoming gothic horror-romance Crimson Peak.
The visionary director behind Pan’s Labyrinth has described the project as one of his most ambitious, having constructed an entire Victorian mansion, with working elevators, working bathrooms, and a full library in which to shoot. The plot centers on an aspiring writer (Mia Wasikowska, Alice in Wonderland) seeking to put a family tragedy behind her. She marries a mysterious outsider played by Tom Hiddleston (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and moves into the spooky family mansion, Allerdale Hall, which her husband shares with his sister (Jessica Chastain, A Most Violent Year). Before long, family secrets and ghosts begin to emerge in this house that “breathes, bleeds…and remembers.”
Del Toro directs from a script he wrote with Matthew Robbins (Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark). An October 16th release is planned. Check out the trailers and poster below.
