Trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Skyscraper’ Action Flick during the Super Bowl

If you’ve been wondering why Dwayne Johnson hasn’t taken the mantle from more 80’s and 90’s action stars, you’re not alone. Fortunately, Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence, Dodgeball) heard our pleas and the result seems to be Skyscraper, a Die Hard-esque action flick that is hitting theaters this summer.

In the movie, Johnson plays Will Ford, a U.S. war veteran who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China, he finds himself framed for setting a fire inside the world’s tallest (and supposedly safest) skyscraper. Also, he’s an amputee, and his family is stuck inside. Keeping with the genre fare, there’s probably a wise-cracking sidekick and bad one-liners. Check out that angry, intimidating death-stare from Mr. Nice Guy himself in the trailer below.

Skyscraper hits theaters on July 13th, 2018.

Christopher Aanerud: I graduated from the University of Georgia with an English degree. I enjoy watching movies and TV shows, playing video games, singing badly to pop songs in the car, eating delicious food, and drinking fine alcoholic beverages. I play basketball when my crippling knee and back pain allows, and I try to hit the gym on a regular basis. I have a son and a sugar glider, and when I'm not combing the internet for breaking news I am likely traveling or riding my Razor scooter.
