Trailer for Dreamworks Animated Film ‘Spirit Untamed’ Released

In 2002, DreamWorks released the 2D animated movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. The movie was about a wild mustang stallion called Spirit, living in the American west during the 19th century. Over the course of the movie Spirit becomes entangled in the affairs of the humans during the gruesome Indian Wars. He finds himself owned both by the intruding colonizing US Army and the Lakota tribe.

Now almost 20 years after the release of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, DreamWorks will be releasing a sequel called Spirit Untamed. Unlike the previous movie this movie will be computer animated in 3D. The trailer for the movie has just been released.

According to MovieWeb this movie will be about a girl named Lucky Prescott who lives with her aunt. Lucky’s deceased mother was once a brave stunt rider, and she tries to emulate her mom. Eventually Lucky’s aunt sends her to live with her father in the small town of Miradero. There Lucky meets and befriends Spirit the horse. Unfortunately Spirit is being hunted by fearsome horse wranglers, and so Lucky must fight to save her new equine friend.

Spirit Untamed is being directed by Elaine Bogan and produced by Karen Foster. The movie’s voice cast includes Isabela Moner, Marsai Martin, Mckenna Grace, Julianne Moore, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Walton Goggins.
