In 2002, DreamWorks released the 2D animated movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. The movie was about a wild mustang stallion called Spirit, living in the American west during the 19th century. Over the course of the movie Spirit becomes entangled in the affairs of the humans during the gruesome Indian Wars. He finds himself owned both by the intruding colonizing US Army and the Lakota tribe.
Now almost 20 years after the release of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, DreamWorks will be releasing a sequel called Spirit Untamed. Unlike the previous movie this movie will be computer animated in 3D. The trailer for the movie has just been released.
