Tom Holland’s Marvel Spider-Man Future Is Unclear: And That’s Okay

Tom Holland is currently shooting Spider-Man: No Way Home, the concluding chapter of Spider-Man trilogy that started with Homecoming in 2017 and was followed by Far From Home in 2019. However, the actor has been in plethora of project since, and even in the MCU, he has already concluded a trilogy of sorts. With Civil WarInfinity War, and Endgame forming a trilogy of films of a father/son relationship between the web slinger and Tony Stark. Holland has impressed at a young age and has become a centerpiece for the Marvel Universe going forward, though his future is uncertain.

Holland’s contract with Sony and Marvel is up after Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it is unclear if an agreement will be reached anytime soon between all the parties, but, most importantly, Holland wants to be in his 20’s.

The actor recently spoke with USA Today stating, “It’s the first time since I signed on to [Spider-Man: Homecoming] that I don’t have a contract with someone. I might go skiing because that’s something I’ve not really been allowed to do because it’s obviously a dangerous sport.”

The 24 year-old British actor has a point, he deserves time to kick back and have some fun. While anyone would kill for the opportunities that Holland has had, after a while work still becomes work. Maybe he wants to play basketball, ski, or break an arm or two. He’s young! Now is the time Tom Holland! If you can hear me-

I digress.

Holland has earned a well deserved break. Since 2016 the actor has been in six Marvel films. Plus eight other projects that have been released. Its been a busy few very formative years for the young actor that has not gotten a lot of time to be in his 20’s. And maybe he can come back to Peter Parker in the latter half of his twenties.

Though the future with him is uncertain, his obvious love for the character remains. The actor saying, “If they want me to make 10 Spider-Man movies, you better believe I will be there.” There is so much pressure on young actors to continue working, but never realizing that their youth becomes engulfed in celebrity and projects, but sometimes just being an average youth is the real need out of life.

His future is uncertain: that’s okay. Before Sony and Marvel get him back under contract, perhaps Holland will also have had a ski trip or two under his belt by then.
