The upcoming adaptation of Austin Wright‘s novel, Tony and Susan, is on the verge of adding Armie Hammer to the growing cast. The film version- entitled Nocturnal Animals has already attached quite a handful of A-listers.
The Tom Ford-directed project has been busy adding to the cast. Recently, Michael Shannon (Mud) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Godzilla) have also signed on. They joined cast that already includes Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal and Kim Basinger. Ford will write and produce the project as well. The noted fashion luminary previously directed the acclaimed 2009 drama A Single Man, which earned leading actor Colin Firth an Oscar nomination.
The film is an adaptation of Austin Wright’s 1993 novel, Tony and Susan. The storyline focuses on two different perspectives. The first is Susan, played by Amy Adams, who receives a manuscript by her ex-husband and is asked to provide feedback. The second perspective is from Tony, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal, who is the title character of the manuscript, Nocturnal Animals.
Armie Hammer was last seen in Guy Ritchie‘s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. opposite Henry Cavill. Hammer has a busy schedule ahead with three projects slated to be released: Mine, The Birth of a Nation and Free Fire, which he is currently shooting. Hammer broke out in David Fincher’s 2010 drama The Social Network and has since appeared in such films as Mirror Mirror and The Lone Ranger.
Nocturnal Animals is set to start production this fall.
