Third ‘Venom’ Movie With Tom Hardy in the Works

Tom Hardy won’t be leaving his role as Eddie Brock any time soon as the third installment of Venom is already in its early stages. Given the success of the first two films, a third one was expected according to Tom Hardy himself.

When the producer of the upcoming Spider-Man movie No Way Home Amy Pascal was interviewed by Collider, she mentioned that a third film for the Venom franchise is already in the works. Even though the interview itself was focused on the third Spider-Man film coming out next week, Pascal did give a small but juicy update on Venom. It is still in the very early stages but it is definitely being planned and scheduled. According to the producer, Marvel and Sony had been carefully planning for some time to include Venom into the MCU.

In a different interview with Digital Spy, Tom Hardy declared that “These things usually come in threes” when asked about a possible third Venom film. The actor further explained, “They [the Venom movies] depend heavily on the success of each individual one… But I think it’s really important, if you go into something, thinking that one, two, and three are the same, the same story, the same film … There’s got to be some continuity into a third, and fourth, and fifth, and if somebody says ‘no’, that’s fine. Let it go, and you move on to something else.”

In a matching tone, the director of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Andy Serkis told ComicBook that Venom’s story and character arc is something that has been part of the film production process: “One hundred percent. I mean, there is so much potential in the Venomverse for really interesting journeys… I think Kelly and Tom have been thinking about what is the next stage of the journey away. When you’re going into a franchise, you’ve got to think about the arc, of course. You can’t just think about them individually.”

What many fans of the MCU had already expected and has now been confirmed, the third Venom movie is coming. As of yet, there have been no updates on what the title of the film will be or when it’s scheduled to release. In the meantime, followers of the franchise can watch the much anticipated Spider-Man trilogy unfold on December 17th.
