The World is Taken by Storm in ‘Geostorm’ Trailer

Gerard Butler, known for action films including 300, Olympus Has Fallen, and Gods of Egypt is tasked with saving the world in the upcoming action/thriller sci-film Geostorm. Directed by Dean Devlin and Danny Cannon (Gotham) and written by Devlin and Paul Guyot (The Librarians), the film centers around a man who has to save the world from mass devastation when highly advanced satellites are able to control the weather on Earth causing mass chaos. Also starring Ed Harris (The Rock), Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch), and Alexandra Marie Lara (Downfall) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film looks to be a wild ride based on the trailer footage.

The film is scheduled to be released on October 20th, 2017 after being moved around over four times. Originally, the film was supposed to be released on March 20, 2016, but was replaced by Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. The special effects look grand and the promise of wild action and destruction scenes catch our eye from the looks of the teaser trailer released by the production company Warner Bros. as the tagline reads, “The World will be Taken by Storm.”

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
