‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ has a new action-packed trailer !

The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s new trailer is out in the world right now, paired along with the classical video game’s music theme re-imagined, it gives us a glimpse to the upcoming film. The new trailer includes many of the beloved characters from the video game such as princess Peach and Donkey Kong, giving us an idea of their participation on the plot of the film. The character that stands out the most is Princess Peach voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy. It seems as the character will take a relevant part of the action in the animated feature. Mario on the other hand comes off as a clumsy character in the new trailer, voiced by Chris Pratt, he remembers some other characters from the actor.

The new animated feature is the first one based on Nintendo’s classic game Super Mario Bros. The game was created based on the arcade game Mario Bros in 1985 and has several game sequels. Adaptations to the big screen were made before but never an animated one. This new film will be the first adaptation since 1993.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. Produced by Illumination and features the voices of well-known actors as the previously mentioned Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy. Seth Rogen performs as Donkey Kong and Jack Black as Bowser who as in the video games will be the film’s villain according to the trailer.

The plot is related to the classical story of the game, related to save the princess from Bowser. At the beginning of the trailer we see Bowser looking for Mario while threatening Luigi to get information. We can see an action-packed montage that shows Mario’s journey to achieve his objective. However, what becomes interesting is that Princess Peach is portrayed as able to defend herself too. The take on the princess is definitely more contemporary. Will she really need to be saved?

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is set to premiere on April 7th. You can take a look at the new trailer below!
