Jennifer Lopez has played a protective mother in the past, but this new role in The Mother takes it to another level.
Playing an assassin isolated in the woods, Lopez comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she had to give up earlier in her life. Starring alongside her is Joseph Finnes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwick, Paul Raci and Gael Garcia Bernal.
In the teaser, we can see Lopez’s character living in a cabin in the woods and surviving off the land in the beginning. However it takes a turn and shows different locations full of action sequences. Directed by Niki Caro, who is most known for her work on Disney’s Mulan live-action remake and written by Andrea Berloff, Peter Craig and Misha Green, this film is based on a story by Green.
This first teaser was released at Tudum, the online fan event produced by Netflix to promote their upcoming shows and films.
The Mother is expected to release in May 2023.
