‘The Fantastic Four’ is in the Works At Marvel From ‘Spider-Man’ Director Jon Watts

Ever since the Fox merger with Disney back in 2017, many Marvel fans were anticipating the arrival of many of Marvel characters from the Fox movies into the MCU. Particularly, fans have been wanting the iconic Fantastic Four to be in the Marvel Universe especially after the disappointment of the previous films. Now, fans finally have their wish as The Fantastic Four is now in development from Spider-Man: Far From Home director, Jon Watts.

The announcement of the film was made by Kevin Feige during the Disney investor meeting of 2020. The Fantastic Four is set to be one of the big films for Marvel Phase 4. This was a longtime coming with many fans hoping for these characters inclusion with them being such a huge part of Marvel’s history. Being some of the first characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, fans will be ecstatic to finally witness these characters interact with the other lovable heroes of the MCU.

No word on who will play as these characters in the upcoming film as it is still in the early stages of development. Though with the lackluster Fantastic Four movies over the years, including the infamous one from 2015, many are now hopeful that the famous comic book superhero family will finally get a proper film adaptation later down the line. Along with hopefully a proper film version of one of the most recognizable Marvel villains with Doctor Doom. Fans have plenty to look forward to this time around.

There’s been no confirmation on when the film will be released.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
