Taron Egerton Told Marvel He Wants To Play Wolverine

Hugh Jackman has portrayed Wolverine ever since the first X-Men movie in 2000. However, as the X-Men superheroes gradually become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is rumored that Taron Egerton will be the new actor to transform into the powerful mutant, known for his ability to quickly recover from diseases and injuries (a.k.a “accelerated healing factor”) and sharp retractable claws. In a recent interview with the New York Times, Egerton said he has met with Marvel Studio to discuss a role, perhaps that of Wolverine. During the interview, the actor further explained, “I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. I’d be excited but apprehensive as well because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it… But hopefully, if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”

Whether Egerton will play Wolverine or not, is still unknown, but it is clear that the actor who will star in Black Bird, a limited series based on real events, is definitely interested in being part of the MCU.

Valeri Vankov: I recently graduated high school and will be moving from Bulgaria to attend Yale University in the fall. My interests range from data science to finance to trends in the entertainment industry. When it comes to movies, I am always down for a good social commentary or a psychological thriller. K-dramas are also on my watchlist. In my free time I enjoy going outdoors and reading the works of Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, and others.
