Lurking underneath the quaint town of Derry, Maine in a labyrinth of sewage systems is IT.
In the most recent adaptation of Stephen King’s chilling tale, Bill Skarsgard (Allegiant, Hemlock Grove) will portray the terrifying Pennywise. Recently, EW released another exclusive image of the bloodthirsty clown lurking. Watch out Georgie, this shapeshifting evil jokester wants more than just a little laugh.
Director Andrés Muschietti says Pennywise is not your everyday monster who lurks in the shadows or what bumps in the night. “Pennywise shows up, he’s front and center, and he does his show. He has an act- So it’s weird all the time, and every little thing implies a further threat.”
IT’s Pennywise will be unleashed in theaters September 8, 2017.
