Studio Gains Mercy Sparx Comics Film Rights

These days there are a lot of movies based off of comic books and graphic novels being made, and it looks like MGM has plans to make another comic book movie.According to Comic Book Resources MGM has just purchased the film rights to a comic book called Mercy Sparx.

It was reported on Deadline that movie will be produced by The Picture Company and Assemble Media. The movie’s producers will include Jack Heller, Alex Heineman, and Andrew Rona. Also the comic’s writer Josh Blaylock will also be serving as an executive producer on the movie. As of right now it is unknown who the movie’s director will be or who will be starring in the movie, but it has been reported that the movie’s script will be written by Nick Shafir.

Mercy Sparx is a comic book series from Devil’s Due Comics. The series was created by writer Josh Blaylock and artist Matt Merhoff. The story follows a demon woman named Mercy who leaves Hell to live on Earth in order to complete a mission. However once Mercy arrives on Earth she starts to question the meaning of good and evil. Mercy starts working for Heaven as a double agent by hunting down angels who have gone rouge.
