‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)’ Trailer Released

On December 4, Sony Pictures released the first look for the long-awaited sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which follows the titular superhero from a different dimension named Miles Morales. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) is set to hit theaters on October 7, 2022.

The stunningly animated trailer depicts an older Miles Morales listening to Post Malone and Swae Lee’s ‘Sunflower’ when a portal opens and out pops Gwen Stacy, luring the grounded Miles out of his childhood room and back into the Spider-Verse.

Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld return as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, spidermen from two different dimensions that become friends through the events of the first film. The sequel is sure to be on everyone’s most anticipated movies of 2022 list just as its live-action counterpart Marvel’s Spiderman: No Way Home. What fans are speculating is that, since the multiverse is real, Miles Morales may even get a reference in the upcoming film.

The first film, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, was a huge success for Sony Animation and even earned the company’s first Academy Award for best animated feature. According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), the film grossed over $375 million worldwide.
