‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Releases New Image: Dinosaurs Now Rule The Earth

“When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” was a phrase seen in 1993’s Jurassic Park, a reference to a bygone era and printed on a banner in a welcome center that nobody ever saw. Nearly 30 years later, the phrase has moved into the modern era of Jurassic World: Dominion, the sixth film in the Jurassic Park franchise that sees dinosaurs living amongst humans (for real, this time).

According to Collider, Universal Pictures released new image via Total Film just after the five-minute prologue for Dominion was released in November. The prologue reveals the dangers its characters face now that the series’ prehistoric creatives have escaped captivity indefinitely.

Director Colin Trevorrow talks about Dominion’s divergence from the traditional Jurassic formula: “This is a rare film where it is so different from anything that I’ve ever seen before. I didn’t know what to watch as inspiration. Honestly, we watched a lot of nature documentaries. I watched a lot of Planet Earth. The movie does rely on the animals acting and reacting in ways that feel natural.”

Jurassic World: Dominion stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Daniella Pineda, and Justice Smith. The script is co-written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael. Fans will also see the return of the well-known classic dinosaurs as well as familiar characters: Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and everyone’s favorite wisecracking mathematician, Ian Malcolm, played by Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum respectively.

Dominion roars into theaters this summer on June 10, 2022.
