A new featurette for the highly-anticipated Scream 5 teases an emotional reunion between the OG cast of the 1996 horror flick Scream that began with the original director Wes Craven.
Official Synopsis: “Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.”
Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), and David Arquette (Dewey Riley) return to their famous roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera (In The Heights), Kyle Gallner (A Nightmare On Elm Street), Mason Gooding (Booksmart), Mikey Madison (The Addams Family), Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Jenna Ortega (You), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Marley Shelton (Sugar & Spice), Jasmin Savoy Brown (For The People), and Sonia Ammar.
Roger L. Jackson also reprises his role voicing the iconic masked killer, Ghostface.
It has not gone unnoticed by fans of the iconic slasher genre that the upcoming film will not be directed by the horror master Craven, who died in 2015. So, there is some concern on how Scream 5 will turn out without Craven directing. Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, who previously collaborated on 2019’s horror-comedy Ready or Not, will take over directing duties, providing fans with hope that they capture the distinct tone that Craven’s vision created.
Scream 5 is set to be released in theaters on January 14.
