Sandra Bullock And Graham King Collaborate On Upcoming Netflix Film

Following last fall’s successful biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, producer Graham King has turned his attention to a personal project as he revisits his 2009 British miniseries Unforgiven. Netflix has slated to distribute the adaptation and Sandra Bullock is currently attached to star and produce it, according to Deadline.

The Unforgiven adaptation will be directed by Nora Fingscheidt, coming off the heel of her directorial debut Systemsprenger, and is currently tabbed to represent her native Germany at the 2020 Academy Awards. The script was compiled by Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation and Fallout), who initially had Angelina Jolie in mind for the lead role. While the film is currently nameless, its plot follows Ruth Slater (Bullock) who, after being released from prison following the efforts of senseless crime, re-enters society only to find that it is unforgiving. Despite serving time, Slater’s last chance at redemption comes in the form of  her sister whom she previously left behind.

King has an Oscar for his work in Martin Scorcese’s The Departed and renowned for his work with GK Films. Executive producers consist of a team including Nan Morales, Nicola Shinder, Colin Vaines and Sally Wainwright. This film will mark the second time Bullock has starred for a streaming service production following 2018’s Bird Box.
