Actress Salma Hayek, known for hit films such as Desperado (1995) and Frida (2002) has joined the cast of House of Gucci, the Ridley Scott directed feature film from MGM and Scott Free Productions. She will be joining a star-studded cast including Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto and Jack Huston. Roberto Bentivegna has written the script, while Scott and his wife Giannina Scott will be producing with their Scott Free Productions banner.
House of Gucci will tell the story of how Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga), the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci (Driver), planned to kill her husband, the grandson of renowned fashion designer Guccio Gucci. Hayek will play Pina Auriemma, who was a clairvoyant friend of Patrizia Reggiani, who was sentenced to 26 years in prison in 1998.
Hayek has had a busy year, and will be in Lionsgate’s The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, which is set to release on June 16th. She will also be in Marvel’s The Eternals, which is coming out on November 5th and recently was seen in Amazon’s Bliss. Hayek is represented by CAA, Management 360, and Edelstein, Laird & Sobe
According to Deadline, House of Gucci will be released in the U.S. via MGM’s distribution joint venture United Artists on November 24th. The film will be distributed internationally via Universal Pictures.
