Robert Redford and Nick Nolte Brave the Appalachian Trail in “A Walk in the Woods’ Trailer

The first trailer has surfaced for the Robert Redford (All Is Lost) and Nick Nolte (The Thin Red Line) comedy-adventure A Walk in the Woods. The film, based on the memoir of noted author Bill Bryson, has been on Redford’s radar for a decade and finally saw the light of day at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Redford and Nolte play estranged pals who team up to take on the ‘bucket-list’ challenge of conquering the 2,100 mile Appalachian Trail, with some unexpected assistance along the way from Nick Offerman (The Lego Movie), Kristen Schaal (the upcoming Michelle Darnell), and Mary Steenburgen (Last Vegas). Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks) also stars as Redford’s supporting, but skeptical wife.

Oscar-winner Redford was most recently seen in Captain America: The Winter SoldierNolte is set to appear in Adam Sandler‘s western satire The Ridiculous Six.

Ken Kwapis (He’s Just Not That Into You) directed from a script by Rick Kerb and Bill Holderman. The film hits theaters on Labor Day weekend.
