According to Variety, Riley Keough, the breakout star from Mad Max: Fury Road has been cast in A24‘s crime drama Under the Silver Lake alongside Andrew Garfield. Keough has also been in recent projects such as The Discovery with Rooney Mara and Logan Lucky with Steven Soderbergh (she also starred in his hot television series The Girlfriend Experience). Her last film was American Honey where she starred opposite Shia LaBeouf and gained praise from many critics.
Under the Silver Lake was acquired by A24 at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year and will be the follow up to David Robert Mitchell’s indie crowd-pleaser It Follows from 2014. The plot is being kept under wraps, however, we do know that the film will be a crime noir.
Michael De Luca, responsible for the Fifty Shades trilogy, is set to produce.
Production is set to start early next year in Los Angeles.
