Pedro Pascal Joins ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’

Pedro Pascal, best known for his role of Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, is the latest cast member to become attached to the upcoming sequel to the 2015 hit Kingsman: The Secret Service. The property, originally based on Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar’s graphic novel The Secret Service, become surprise blockbuster for Fox. Matthew Vaughn is returning to direct the sequel – entitled Kingsman: The Golden Circle – and co-authoring the screenplay with Jane Goldman.

Taron Egerton (Eddie the Eagle) returns to headline, this time looking to be joined by pair of Oscar winning actresses – both Julianne Moore (Still Alice) and Halle Berry (Monster’s Ball) are said to be joining the ensemble, with Moore looking to portray the main villain. (Samuel L. Jackson memorably portrayed the central foe in the first film.) Egerton recently took to Twitter to tease a potential surprise for the sequel, possibly alluding that Colin Firth will return in the film despite the belief of his character’s demise in the first outing. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to hit theaters on June 16, 2017.

The Chilean-born Pascal will next be seen on screen in Zhang Yimou’s epic The Great Wall, a film starring Oscar winner Matt Damon and Willem Dafoe centered around a mystery during the construction of the Great Wall of China. He was also recently seen in the acclaimed Netflix drama Narcos.
