Paul Feig To Direct Adaptation of ‘The School of Good And Evil’ for Netflix

Paul Feig has signed on to direct the Netflix adaption of The School For Good and Evil. 

The Netflix film is an adaptation of the bestselling young adult book series written by Soman Chainani. Chainani’s book series consists of six bestselling novels. This particular project will be an adaptation of the first book in the series. 

The story follows two best friends, Sophie and Agatha, who discover where the children and families of fairytales go to school. The children at the school are trained to become fairytale heroes and villains. Sophie longs to be a princess and knows she will be asked to join the good school. While Agatha, with her goth look and mysterious past fears, will be picked for the school of evil. But, in a turn of events, the girls find their fates reserved with Sophie going to the school of evil and Agatha to the school of good. The go on an extraordinary adventure filled with friendship and discovery as they learn more about the school and the people inside. 

In a statement to Deadline, Chainani remarked, “To have one of your favorite directors adapt your book into a film for Netflix is an honor and a dream. Paul Feig is a brilliant filmmaker and a master of tone — a perfect fit for the twists and turns of The School For Good & Evil. I have no doubt that he will make a true fairy tale classic.”
