Old vs. New in First Trailer for ‘Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans’

After Teen Titans Go! To The Movies‘ post credits scene hinted at a return of the original Teen Titans series, many were curious to see how the original Titans would make a comeback. Well, the original Titans are back, but not quite in the way fans expected. Teen Titans Go has released the trailer for a brand-new direct to home media movie featuring the original Teen Titans in Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans.

This new trailer starts out with the Go Titans being summoned to an arena as part of a battle. They initially seem confident about their battle until they find out that they were summoned to face off against themselves, or rather  the original 2003 Teen Titans. It starts out with them battle one another to prove who is the better version, until they find out that Trigon is here to threaten the world. Evidentially, the old and new Teen Titans have to team up to save the world.

This new trailer is about what you would expect from Teen Titans Go: very self aware and referential to the previous installment with constants jokes about other media and even themselves. Some might have expected the original Teen Titans to be animated much like their original series rather than flash, but the trailer still offers some jabs at how the original Teen Titans is compared more favorably to Go. Although fans of the original series expected a proper revival, this direct to video movie could potentially pave the way for a possible season 6 as initially rumored.

No released date has been set yet for Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans. Watch the full trailer below:

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
