CBS Films has released the official trailer for the horror biopic about firearm heiress, Sarah Winchester (Helen Mirren), who believes she is haunted by the spirits of those killed by her family-named rifle.
Jason Clarke is Eric Price, a psychiatrist who has been sent to evaluate Sarah Winchester and quickly discovers that the ghosts might not be all in her head.
Building on the deep-seeded mystery surrounding the story, the film’s publicity photos, which feature Helen Mirren wearing mourning clothes and seated in a carriage, replicate ”the only known photograph of the reclusive Sarah Winchester on the estate, which is seen on the tour of the mansion in San Jose.”
Winchester was written and directed by Michael and Peter Spierig and will be released in theaters on February 2.
