NSYNC’s JC Chasez Joins Topher Grace in ‘One Shot’ Musical

Former boyband crooner JC Chasez (Killer Movie) has been cast as Topher Grace’s (Take Me Home Tonight) musical nemesis in the upcoming film One Shot. Taye Diggs (Rent) will also star in the comedy about a “failed performer turned stage manager who must wrangle the eccentric cast and crew of a new play to save the show’s opening night,” according to Deadline. Set to be directed by first-timer Isaac Rentz, the film is still in the early developmental stages.

Audiences have yet to experience Grace’s vocals up to this point in his acting career (that is if we are not counting the musical episode of That 70’s Show). With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if his pipes can stack up next to Chasez’s, and conversely, if Chasez’s comedic timing can hold its own next to Grace. The singer-songwriter is fairly new to the acting world, with perhaps his most notable role being in The Mickey Mouse Club with fellow NSYNC band member Justin Timberlake (The Social Network) and established actor Ryan Gosling (Drive), who have both gone on to have successful film careers. If Chasez can deliver in this new role, it could open the door to a new career.
