In an Instagram reel posted on Saturday, September 12th, Nicole Kidman announced that Practical Magic 2 has wrapped production. The post features a video of Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock on the film’s set, smiling and laughing before walking into the sunset. “That’s a wrap on Practical Magic 2! Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic”.
This is the second post Kidman has made about the film. Back in July, she posted on Instagram to commemorate the film’s first day of production. That post featured a video of Kidman and Bullock hugging with a caption that stated, “The witches are back. Owens sisters’ first day on set!”
Kidman and Bullock are reprising their roles in the sequel, along with Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing. Evan Rachel Wood, however, won’t be returning for this sequel, posting in an Instagram Reel back in July that “I was not asked to come back and be in the Practical Magic sequel. I offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are recasting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.”
Susanne Bier is directing Practical Magic 2, from a screenplay written by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett. New additions to the film’s cast include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.
Warner Bros. is set to release Practical Magic 2 in theaters on September 18th, 2026.
