New ‘Men in Black International’ Trailer Reveals a Sidekick to the Team

Earlier, on April 25th, amid the many headlines about the cast for the 25th installment of the James Bond franchise, Sony Pictures Entertainment dropped a new trailer for the upcoming film, Men in Black: International. It displays much more of everything the spinoff film will have to offer that is both new and familiar to fans of the series.

In the second official trailer, we get a stronger sense of the plot and agents’ background. We get a look at the past of Agent M (Tessa Thompson) and how she came to be an agent as well as interactions between her and her partner, Agent H (Chris Hemsworth). There are plenty of the iconic, chrome-colored guns and various gadgets or technologies used alongside footage of the many alien species to be featured. We also see the agents squaring off against shapeshifters, known as the Hive, who are able to disguise themselves as agents, causing there to be a mole within the organization. We are also given our first look at the sidekick to the duo, which is a small alien named Pawny voiced by Kumail Nanjiani. Hopefully, it doesn’t turn out to be as annoying as the talking pug, Frank, from the second film.

Men in Black: International is directed by F. Gary Gray from a script written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Alongside Thompson, Nanjiani, and Hemsworth are Rebecca Ferguson, Rafe Spall, Laurent Bourgeois, Larry Bourgeois, Emma Thompson, and Liam Neeson. The film will hit theaters on June 14th later this year and the trailer can be checked out below!

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
