With the nationwide release of Insurgent, the second part of the Divergent trilogy, only few days away (on March 20), Lionsgate has revealed some new artwork to promote the film’s release in the IMAX 3D format. IMAX will also be promoting the Insurgent virtual reality experience “Shatter Reality” in all Regal IMAX theaters beginning on March 19.
The new artwork depicts Tris (Shailene Woodley) as a fugitive on the run, “defying reality” as she leaps between buildings in a post-apocalyptic Chicago, with visuals reminiscent of a 3D movie experience. Directed by Robert Schwentke and based on the novel by Veronica Roth, Insurgent also stars Theo James as Tris’s sidekick Four and Kate Winslet as Jeanine, the leader of the Erudite elite, with Naomi Watts, Ansel Elgort, and Octavia Spencer in supporting roles.
