New ‘Dune: Part 2’ Trailer Released

A new trailer for the highly anticipated Dune: Part 2 was released. Denis Villeneuve, director of the film, has given audiences a glimpse into what will come in the newest installment of the Dune story.

The trailer opens with Chalamet’s character standing in the familiar landscape of the desert, a trademark of the original film, looking out onto an explosive happening in the distance, his cape blowing in the wind behind him. The proceeding trailer features vast desert landscapes, detailed costuming, and big-name stars.

Dune: Part 2 is the sequel to the highly successful, 6-time Academy Award-winning Dune. Villeneuve directed and co-wrote the screenplay for Dune with Jon Spaihts based on the novel of the same name by Frank Herbert.

The story “will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atredies as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya are returning to their iconic roles in the film, and a cast of new stars are joining the Arrakis world. The new cast members are Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Javier Bardem, Christopher Walken, Dave Bautista, and Souhelia Yacoub.

The Oscar-winning creative team that worked on the original movie is back, including Greig Fraser as director of photography, production designer Patrice Vermette, editor Joe Walker, visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert, and costume designer Jacqueline West. Hans Zimmer is also returning as composer for the film.

The film, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, is set to be released in theaters and IMAX on March 1, 2024, and internationally released on February 28, 2024.
