Netflix Releases Trailer for Rom-Com Sequel ‘To All the Boys 2: P.S. I Still Love You’

In 2018, Netflix released the romantic comedy movie To All The Boys I’ve Loved Beforewhich garnered overall positive reception, 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a spike in sales for Yakult, a Japanese sweet beverage that the film’s characters consume. Now fans are highly anticipating the sequel P.S. I Still Love You, which further develops the romance between Peter Kavinsky and Lara Jean Covey, played by Noah Centineo and Lana Condor respectively. Those who’ve read Jenny Han’s “To All the Boys” book series already know that the sequel will be an adaptation of her second book in the series.

Directed by Michael Fimognari, P.S. I Still Love You’s trailer shows flashback montage that basically recaps what happened in the first movie: Lara Jean’s secret love letters were sent out and she found herself in a fake relationship with Peter after a fateful encounter on the running track. Now the two enjoy what looks like the perfect, genuine relationship as they go on wholesome dates and relive happy memories. All seems to go well until the very end when Lara Jean encounters her past middle school crush: John Ambrose McClaren (played by Jordan Fisher).

Adding another character who also received Lara Jean’s love letter adds another layer of classic rom-com tension, complicating both Lara Jean’s and the audiences’ feelings about the film’s love interests. The trailer teases us by keeping Lara Jean’s emotions a secret. Only by watching the movie will it reveal whether she is won over by the new addition, remain in a picture-perfect relationship with Peter, or possibly neither.

P.S. I Still Love You is set for release on February 12, 2020, around Valentine’s Day. Watch the official sequel trailer below:
