What has become the usual suspects appeared on the annual list as the New York Film Critics Online (not be confused with the more venerable New York Film Critics Circle) announced their picks for the best in cinema for the 2016 calendar year. Moonlight, yet again, topped the list, taking Best Picture honors while Manchester by the Sea‘s Casey Affleck and Elle‘s Isabelle Huppert added to their leading actor citations.
