‘Moana’ to Hold World Premiere at AFI Fest

AFI just announced on Tuesday which films will be featured as part of their Special Screenings at the AFI Fest, including three world premieres. The most unexpected of the announcements was that the much anticipated CGI animated film Moana, directed by Ron Clements and John Musket, will have its world premiere at the AFI Fest on November 14th.

Directed by Ron Clements and John Musket, – the team who previously brought us Disney classics Princess and the Frog, Hercules, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid – the film will follow protagonist Moana as she navigates the ocean to find a mysterious and mythical island. The film will feature the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson, Alan Tudyk, Nicole Scherzinger, and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho.

The Special Screenings section at AFI Fest will also see the world premieres of Miss Sloane starring Jessica Chastain, and The Comedian starring Robert De Niro.

Bright Lights, Lion, Paterson, and Toni Erdmann will also be shown as part of the Special Screenings at AFI Fest.

Tickets for special screenings will become available November 1.
