Director Steven Soderbergh and Hollywood icon Meryl Streep are collaborating once again on the new HBO Max film, Let Them All Talk, which is set to release on the streamer December 10. The film also stars Dianne Wiest, Candice Bergen, Lucas Hedges and Gemma Chan. Streep and Soderbergh last worked together in 2019 on the Netflix Crime Comedy, The Laundromat.
Let Them All Talk follows an acclaimed author who takes a trip with two old friends, her nephew and her literary agent, as she struggles to finish her latest manuscript. The first details of the film were released back in October during an Entertainment Weekly conversation with the cast.
“I told [Soderbergh] he was gonna ruin everything for every director, and every production designer, and everything else, because he made the movie for 25 cents — I know that’s what I was paid,” Streep said. “Then it was made in two weeks, and it was a free ride on the boat.”
The cast revealed that “the only equipment was sound equipment,” and that much of the actual filming was done by Soderbergh holding a camera while sitting in a wheelchair.
“Improvised feel? Well, yeah, it does, because it is,” Streep said. “I mean, they would give us the outlines of a situation, and then we knew where we had to end up. But they didn’t tell us how to get there.”
Soderbergh is also currently filming his new crime thriller, No Sudden Move, which will star Matt Damon, Brendan Fraser, Jon Hamm, Benicio Del Toro and Don Cheadle. Other names in the cast include Honey Boy’s Noah Jupe, Succession’s Kieran Culkin and Uncut Gems star Julia Fox.
