Megyn Kelly Comments on Charlize Theron’s Characterization of Herself in ‘Bombshell’

Ex-Fox News and NBC News anchor Megyn Kelly commented on Instagram about her six-year-old son’s confusion over movie poster featuring Charlize Theron, playing Kelly in Bombshell.

Kelly’s son apparently believed that Theron’s poster image was actually a picture of his mother, putting him in line with most audiences who noted the uncanny prosthetic comparison in Bombshell‘s promos. Kelly mentioned the situation in an Instagram post, saying that after taking her family to see Frozen 2, her son stopped by the poster. She extrapolated, “The ad confused him because it appears to show a picture of me.”

The rest of the post commented on her involvement in the film. Of her involvement, she said, “I have nothing to do with this film. I did not sell the rights to my story or book and only got my first look at the film once it was past the point of any possible edits, though there are certainly some I would have made.”

Though she didn’t say much about her reaction to Bombshell that depicts her time at Fox News during a sexual harassment case, she did say that “Watching this picture was an incredibly emotional experience for me… Sexual harassment… can leave scars that do not heal.” She then adds that she will have more thoughts on the film “soon.” Check out the full Instagram post below.

Theron starred alongside Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, John Lithgow, Kate McKinnon, and Connie Britton among many others in the Jay Roach-directed film. Bombshell was distributed by Lionsgate and came out on December 13th.
