McKenna Grace Cast in New Untitled ‘Annabelle’ Project

The rising stardom of actress McKenna Grace has seen many successes recently including Gifted, I, Tonya and the new Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House.  In addition to her already illustrious career, she has officially been cast for a major role in the upcoming addition into The Conjuring Universe, according to Deadline. The untitled Annabelle project will be the third film in the franchise that follows the demonically charged doll. With continual additions in casting being made, New Line Cinema is preparing to begin shooting the film next month.

Although this newest addition will be the third Annabelle film, it is the first sequel. Annabelle: Creation was actually a prequel of the narrative. Creation revealed the roots of the haunted object while the first Annabelle film gave the audience more details of the doll’s past. The third film will finally get back to the how the doll came into the Warren family’s possession and the havoc it wrecked after it found its new home.

Grace will star as Ed and Lorraine Warren’s daughter, Judy. Audiences may remember that Judy has already had a run-in with the demonic doll. During The Conjuring, the primary antagonist, the witch, followed Lorraine’s locket back to the Warren home. There she scared young Judy while holding Annabelle on her lap.

Gary Dauberman has returned to the franchise after the continual rising success of The Nun.  The third installment of Annabelle will mark his directorial debut. James Wan, the director who began this horrific universe, will also return as producer of this project. While additional details regarding plot or further casting has been reserved, one can only hope that Conjuring star Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren.

This Annabelle sequel is scheduled to hit theaters July 3, 2019.

My youngest daughter battles epilepsy so I am her advocate in several ways. One way in particular is that I am currently writing a children's book that lets other children with disabilities know that they are not alone. Last fun fact is that our family is also proud fur parents to three rescue chi-mix dogs.
