Upcoming biopic Maserati: The Brothers has added a new actor to its roster: Anthony Hopkins has become the first confirmed cast member for the film.
Maserati: The Brothers follows three brothers as they pursue their dream of building cars in a garage during the 1910s. From their humble beginnings, the Maserati brothers laid the foundation for racing cars and eventually developed luxury vehicles, making a name for themselves in the automotive world.
Apart from Hopkins, there has been no word yet on other talent set to appear in the film. Andrea Iervolino is attached as a producer through his production company, The Andrea Iervolino Company.
“His unparalleled ability to embody complex characters will undoubtedly elevate our story, and we are eager to see how he brings depth to his role,” Iervolino said, according to Variety.
Hopkins has had an extremely prolific acting career. Among his many roles, he appeared in Thor, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and The Elephant Man.
Hopkins is also a two-time Academy Award winner for Best Actor. He earned his first Oscar for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in 1991’s The Silence of the Lambs and his second for his performance in 2020’s The Father.
