Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe is shaking things up at the San Diego Comic-Con. Following a year off in 2018, Marvel makes a shocking return to Hall H coming off the heels of their blockbuster phenomenon Avengers: Endgame, which served as proper finale to the studio’s 11 year saga of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. What it reveals at Comic-Con will set up fans and True Believer’s expectations for whatever Phase 4 has to offer.
According to Deadline, Marvel will be making several announcements about the pending future of MCU, which includes confirmation for the upcoming, long-awaited Black Widow film slated for 2020, information surrounding an adaptation of Jack Kirby’s 1976 series The Eternals, the long-rumored Shang-Chi adaptation and Doctor Strange 2. Marvel will also address their TV streaming projects on Disney+ surrounding characters such as Loki, Falcon, Vision, Scarlet Witch and, quite possibly, Hawkeye.
Aside from Black Widow, The Eternals is the only future Marvel film with a cast and crew in place. Big names like Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Richard Madden have confirmed their attachment to the film with Chloe Zhao in the director’s chair.
July 2017 was Marvel’s last appearance at D23 and Comic-Con conventions in San Diego and Anaheim. Disney provided zero comments about Marvel’s appearance this year at San Diego Comic-Con.
