Mark Ruffalo Expresses Interest In a Hulk/Wolverine Film

An Incredible Hulk and Wolverine pairing could be in the cards for MCU, as Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo recently expressed interest in a film that would feature the two superheroes side by side according to ScreenRant.

With Disney’s recent acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the film rights X-Men now belong to Marvel, and the mutant academy is expected to join MCU in the coming years. A die-hard fan of the series growing up, Ruffalo suggested in a recent interview that, “Maybe Hulk and Wolverine could hook up.” Marvel’s objective for the X-Men has been mum, so the future of Wolverine remains unknown. Being the most popular character from the X-Men franchise, Marvel would be setting itself up for failure if the concept was left out right away.

Ruffalo made his debut in Marvel’s The Avengers in 2012 and a whopping total of five appearances in five MCU properties. Prior to his appearance, Banner was played by Eric Bana in And Lee’s 2003 Hulk and Edward Norton in 2008 reboot The Incredible Hulk, the latter being Hulk’s first technical MCU introduction However, following some contractual conflict involving the actor and the studio, Norton departed and was replaced with Ruffalo.

Audiences reception has been overwhelmingly positive with Ruffalo’s portrayal of Banner and with fans clamoring for a Hulk solo film for the past eight years. Ruffalo’s last appearance in Avengers: Endgame brought balance to the character, with fans dubbing this calmer version of the character “Professor Hulk.”

Until that film happens, we at least have this animated Hulk vs. fight scene.
