Marcia Gay Harden Joins ‘Point Blank’ Remake

According to Variety, Academy Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden (CBS’ Code Black) is the latest addition to Netflix’s remake of Point Blank, starring Frank Grillo (Beyond Skyline, The Purge: Election Year) and Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Infinity War). Also in the cast are Teyonah Parris (Fox’s Empire), Boris McGiver (Netflix’s House of Cards), and Markice Moore (OWN’s The Paynes). Joe Lynch (Mayhem) helms from a screenplay by Adam G. Simon (Synapse).

The film is a remake of Fred Cavaye’s 2010 French action-thriller of the same name. The story centers on an emergency room nurse, Paul (Mackie), who saves the life of a murder suspect (Grillo). However, Paul’s pregnant wife is kidnapped and in order to secure her release, he is ordered to help the murder suspect escape. The unlikely pair must now face off with rival gangsters and corrupt cops while trying to beat the clock to save Paul’s family.

Grillo and Joe Carnahan are producing via their War Party label, and Johanna Byer is producing for Gaumont. The executive producers are Gaumont’s Sidonie Dumas, Christophe Riandee and Gene Stein.

Harden has been seen most recently as the star of TV’s Code Black (2015-2018), and on the big screen as Christian Grey’s mother in Fifty Shades Darker and its sequel Fifty Shades Freed.

Production on Point Blank is set to begin next month.
