Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are back at it again with what they do best… revenge. If only Dolly Parton could join in on the fun, then it would be just like old times (wouldn’t that be just amazing?).
Deadline has exclusively learned that Tomlin and Fonda will team up again for a comedy written and directed by Paul Weitz called Moving On.
Weitz has directed movies such as Little Fockers, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, About a Boy, and American Pie. Along with writing the films Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant and About a Boy, Weitz also wrote Nutty Professor II: The Klumps and DreamWorks Antz.
Moving On follows two old friends who reunite at a funeral and decide to seek revenge on the widower who wronged them decades ago.
Malcolm McDowell (Halloween) and Richard Roundtree (George of the Jungle) are also set to join Tomlin and Fonda in the comedy Moving On.
Tomlin and Fonda are currently in the seventh and final season of the Netflix series Grace & Frankie. Aside from the Netflix show Tomlin is set to star a comedy, The Road Home and Fonda is currently filming the animated adventure-comedy Luck with Whoopi Goldberg.
Weitz recently directed Fatherhood starring Kevin Hart for Netflix, based on the 2011 novel Two Kisses for Maddy, which chronicled the journey of a newly widowed single parent.
Filming is set to begin in Los Angeles this fall, so there is still hope for Parton to join the film.
