LeBron James’ Agent and Friend, Rich Paul, Promoted to UTA Board of Directors

Rich Paul, lifelong friend and eventual agent of NBA superstar and upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy lead LeBron James, has officially joined the United Talent Agency’s Board of Directors on Monday, per Variety. Paul is the founder of Klutch Sports Group, which represents other NBA all-stars such as Anthony Davis, Trae Young, Ben Simmons, and more. As founder of the agency, Paul has quickly become one of the most influential figures in all of sports, and this partnership with UTA is a clear indication of the mogul’s continued and future goals in the sports and entertainment worlds.

UTA CEO and fellow board member Jeremy Zimmer remarked in a statement that “our relationship with Rich Paul has been a true bright spot since he partnered with us a year ago,” referring to the investment UTA made in Klutch last year and his position as the head of UTA Sports. He then goes on to note how “We were determined to come together and build a cutting edge, full-service representation arm for athletes, and are well on our way.”

With the arrival of Space Jam: A New Legacy, the sequel to the Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny-led Space Jam in 1996, Paul will technically represent his first movie stars, as both James and Davis are set to appear in the film. Space Jam: A New Legacy, directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man, Scary Movie 5), is set to be released on July 16, 2021 after wrapping up filming last summer.
