Lady Gaga And Ridley Scott To Work On Biopic about Assassination of Gucci Grandson

Ridley Scott is back to work as for his next film since 2017’s All the Money in the World, as the Alien director will bring the Gucci family fashion brand and murder of Guccio Gucci’s grandson to the silver screen, according to Deadline. Lady Gaga is slated to star as Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted of conspiring to assassinate her husband in 1995. Reggiani would eventually serve an 18 year sentence before her subsequent release in 2016.

This currently untitled project will be the first film Lady Gaga has attached herself to since her Oscar buzz performance in 2018’s A Star Is Born, which saw her star opposite Bradley Cooper. The singer won an Oscar for her writing contributions to the song “Shallow,” which proved to be one of many hits from the film’s soundtrack.

Scott will move forward with Lady Gaga on the project after completion of his upcoming film with Fox/Disney entitled The Last Duel, which will reunite Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and feature Adam Driver and Jodie Comer. The Gucci murder case will be compiled by writer Roberto Bentivegna and is based on the Sara Gay Forden novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.
