Peter and Bobby Farrelly are producing sequel to their 1996 comedy Kingpin. Collider was informed on Thursday that the project is currently in development at Village Roadshow Pictures.
While there is no script or cast yet, we do know that the Farrelly’s will be returning to at the very least produce the film.
The original Kingpin starred Woody Harrelson as Roy Munson, who was bowling prodigy before losing his hand in a con job gone wrong. After 17 years of living an unhappy life selling bowling equipment, he finds his ticket to riches through Ishmael, and a natural Amish bowling talent, played by Randy Quaid.
Bill Murray also starred, with the cast also being filled by Vanessa Angel, Chris Elliot, Rob Moran, and Farrelly brothers regular, Lin Shaye.
Not much is known about the sequel yet, as many things are still being figured out in development. It remains unclear if the Farrellys will write or direct, but they are no stranger to returning to their classic films, following 2014’s Dumb and Dumber To.
The original film only grossed $25 million at the box office in 1996, but has since become a comedy cult classic through home video.
