According to Variety, Kate Hudson (Almost Famous, Bride Wars) is attached to produce the sequel to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The hope for the sequel is for both Hudson and Matthew McConaughey (The Wolf of Wall Street, Interstellar) to reprise their roles as Andie Anderson and Benjamin Barry.
Stacey Sher (Out of Sight, Freedom Writers) will be producing alongside Hudson. A screenwriter is still being sought out. Details regarding plot and casting remain in the works. News of McConaughey’s return has not yet been released.
The original cast starred McConaughey, Hudson, Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along, Bad Moms), Adam Goldberg (Saving Private Ryan, A Monster in Paris), Thomas Lennon (17 Again, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian), Michael Michele (New Jack City, Dark Blue), Shalom Harlow (Vanilla Sky, Head over Heals), Annie Parisse (And So It Goes, Friends from College) and others.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days focuses on Annie who is a magazine columnist gaining research to turn a guy away in a week and a half. Simultaneously, Benjamin makes a bet with his boss to prove he can make any woman fall in love with him and though a mutual friend, both are each other’s targets. Tensions arise as mutual parties develop feelings for each other.
The representatives of McConaughey and Hudson did not comment at the time.
