Jude Law Might be Returning to “Captain Marvel 2”

Now that Avengers: Endgame has been released and the MCU has completed Phase 3, Marvel fans are starting to wonder what the next steps are for this movie franchise. Currently, Spider-Man: Far From Home and the upcoming Black Widow standalone movie are the only known installments in Marvel’s ‘Phase 4.’ However, rumors surrounding a Captain Marvel 2 are starting to circulate.

Upon its release, Captain Marvel managed to earn over a billion dollars at the box-office. Its financial success could definitely motivate Marvel to make a sequel and, according to We Got This Covered, it looks like the studio is planning to do so. One interesting rumor about Captain Marvel 2 is that Jude Law might be returning for the sequel. In Captain Marvel, Law played the Kree character Yon-Rogg, who turned out to be the movie’s main antagonist.

Unlike most comic book movie villains, however, Yon-Rogg managed to survive after the movie’s conclusion. It’s speculated that Law’s character will once again be an antagonist to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, but might revert back to an ally status over the course of the movie. This is unusual because Marvel rarely uses the same villain twice, but it would be interesting to see how the studio handles his character.
